Welcome to The Newton Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

The Newton Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, managed by the non-profit Project AWAKE, offers a serene place to enjoy the great outdoors. With hundreds of varieties of plants and trees, water features, community art and a nature center, the arboretum and garden offer the perfect spot for a stroll in the park, pursuing a love of nature photography, a family outing or even celebrating a wedding. 

Thanks to the generosity of the community and countless hours of work donated by volunteers, Newton Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a treasured gem for Newton residents and visitors to the community.

Project AWAKE hosting Virtual Trivia Night fundraiser

Join us in our newest fundraising event the Project AWAKE Virtual Trivia Night Fundraising Event.

The event will include eight rounds of fun trivia beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, April 9. 

Teams can have up to 6 team members and the cost is just $30 per team.

Each team will be placed in a virtual room and will be able to discuss questions and answers among each other. Google Forms that contain the questions will be sent to team captains. A captain should be someone who is familiar with Zoom and knows how to share their screen with the team. ​A Zoom link for the event will be sent before the event.

Prizes include bragging rights,  Arboretum t-shirt and a refund of your registration fee.

To register fill out form then  click the "Submit" button. Then click on follow "Pay Trivia Registration Fee" to pay your $30 team registration fee. The Zoom link for the event will be emailed only after payment has been received.

Project AWAKE offering 'Something Unique'

Project AWAKE is selling engraved bricks and granite pavers to be used for patios around several seating areas at the Newton Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. The bricks and pavers will create a unique memento to honor someone or something special as well as generate beautiful seating areas to be enjoyed by all for years to come. Some suggestions for brick or paver purchases include: honoring a bride and groom on their wedding day; a wedding anniversary;an organization; a graduating class; a memorial to a person or pet; a special event; and your own name or children’s name.

Single 4"x8"  bricks are $75 each and 8"x8" pavers are $250. To order your "unique" gift fill out registration form, along with check made payable to Project AWAKE and mail to Project AWAKE, PO Box 321, Newton, IA 50208.
